sFlow sampling technology can be implemented in a broad range of networking devices from workgroup L2 switches to high-end core routers.

A wide variety of software applications can take advantage of sFlow data including congestion control and troubleshooting, route profiling, audit trail security analysis, and accounting for billing.

sFlow.org provides specifications, example code, and tools to assist network equipment vendors and software developers in supporting sFlow.

Network equipment vendors who are developing sFlow Agents will find the sFlow Agent Source Code, sFlowTest.awk test script, and sFlow Toolkit under sFlow Developer Tools most useful. Software application developers will find the sFlow Toolkit under sFlow Developer Tools most helpful.

The sFlow Specifications and Discussion Board are useful for both network equipment and software vendors.
